A new airline Powdair has made skiing in Switzerland and Portes du Soleil even easier.  You can now fly from UK regional airports straight into Sion Airport, Switzerland with quick transfer times to Verbier, Zermatt, Saas Fee, Crans Montana and Nendaz resorts.

You can now fly from London  – City, Southend &  Luton, Bristol, Manchester and Southampton with regular flights most days.  They also fly from Antwerp International and Zurich allowing connecting flights to further afield and easy access from Benelux countries.

This airline is targeted at skiers and launches this December with ticket sales already open.  Within the ticket price you are allowed free ski and snowboard carriage plus 23kg of luggage which is one of the most generous allowances we’ve seen allowing you to pack that extra warm jacket & boots for the evening. For families children under 2 fly free and there are discounted child fares.

Ticket pricing is to be transparent with average fares about £140 with little fluctuation over peak ski times – though book quickly as the flights will fill up fast!

When you arrive at Sion airport you can rent a car, have a private transfer waiting or take the minibus to the train station which will take you to most of the resorts on Switzerland’s excellent transport system.
